Childhood friends Matt and Tom like to fish together at least once a year. They were rewarded with an awesome day on the water with over 30 snook, reds, jacks including this big snook!

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July last week! After starting the week red hot, the fireworks continued all week and right on through the 4th on the water…It’s been a Southern Gentlemen style start to the month!

The past 10-12 days have been another great example of fishing in July. The first half of the time span was defined by brutal heat, low wind, and great bait, if you like fishing with pilchards. The second half of the period was forced around some serious wind, rain and near constant cloud cover. The bait became scarce, and suddenly, we were faced with the unfamiliar trip to the bait shops for …shrimp! The only constant in all this, was he action. Big fish, little fish, and everything in between brought it’s A Game, and provided some rewarding trips.

Bob came down from Chicago with his son Frankie and hammered double digit numbers of snook up to 15 pounds…check out this pig!
Gary came down from Indiana for an afternoon trip and was rewarded with a beautiful snook, along with multitudes of jack crevalle and snook…that’s his twin brother Bob in the back ground shaking his head is disbelief at the size of the first fish in the boat.
As the afternoon wore on, Bob decided to step up and match his big brother of 2 minutes, with this absolutely gorgeous beast of a redfish! In all, both brothers landed 38″ fish, that weighed 18-19 pounds each, on big pilchards.
