Time to go snook fishing!

Had a great morning with Jeff from New York, sight fishing the banks and mangroves near Marco, and Keewaydin for some stout snook…in addition to the two upper slot fish pictured, he caught another 20 snook of all shapes and sizes as we cruised the backwaters with the incoming tide. Love these one one one trips where the stories flow thickly, the laughs pile up, and we can zone in quietly on these big fish laying all over the shallows.

Jeff with a nice upper slot snook he dragged out of the mangroves!

Of course, the kids were waiting and ready to burn up the leftover mixture of beautiful pilchards, handpicked shrimp(my favorite for sight fishing), grunts and threads, so back out we went and they pounded some really big fish back in the high tide mangroves, along with an assortment of small stuff, Jack’s, big snapper, couple upper slot reds (lost at boat) east of the Marco Bridge until the outgoing tide slowed and the baitwell was empty.

Tallie caught a whooper deep in the mangroves!
