Cold Weather just heated up the fishing!

When Old Man Winter comes to visit SW Florida, and mess up the fishing, there is only one way to fight back – load the baitwell with shrimp, load the boat with Minnesotans, and take him head on. Kyler brought his dad and girlfriend Lauren down from the twin cities on a windy cold morning in Naples, laughed at the weather, and then flat out put a beatdown on the fish this morning. In just 2 spots over 4 hours, they pounded countless snook, several redfish, big black drum, mangrove snapper, a load of nice sheepshead, and even big ol Jewfish on the way to burning through over 150 shrimp. And Lauren, lordy, she kept all three of us busy, me unhooking and photographing fish, and the guys, reeling up their baits and questioning what they were doing wrong lol.

Kyler started off the morning with a nice snook on his first cast in Naples Bay
Then it was Lauren’s turn to heat up and take over the show. This was her first redfish of the morning.
Nice big sheepshead were biting all morning. This was he first of several doubles.
Got the obligatory Honeymoon shot with another redfish Lauren Caught. This one was in Rookery Bay just south of Naples.
Kyler wasn’t done, either. He dragged this stout jewfish (Golaith Grouper) out of the mangroves
Check out this black drum Lauren hauled out of the mangrove roots!
Another snook Lauren while Kyler fishes in the background.
Another Rookery Bay redfish!

Don’t let the cold weather scare you off the water, the fishing has heated up, just as I’m sure the four sheepshead I sent Kyler and his crew with, to a local restaurant, are doing in some hot grease right now!
